The Dumfries Shotokan Karate Academy was founded in 2000 by Sensei Andrew Hepburn, Sensei Sheila Marshall and Sensei David Turner.
The club, with its 160 strong membership, is part of the Scottish Shotokan Academy, which trains under the guidance of Sensei Jim Martin (7th Dan). Sensei Martin is one of the founding members of a team of instructors known as the Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha Instructors Academy (SRKHIA) which includes many high ranking international instructors. This team was formed in order to preserve and further elaborate the teachings of Master Taiji Kase (9th Dan). Welcome.
